| Note | 3rd daughter of John McKeil Anderson and Mary Ricketts Van Cortlandt. Mary was a daughter of Philip Van Cortlandt (1734-1814) of the Dutch/American Van Cortlandt family of New York, America. He was a "Loyalist" at the time of the American War of Independence and was disinherited by his family. Among his ancestors was Stephanus Van Cortland (1643-1700?), the first native born Mayor of New York City (1677). Catherine died at Ootacamundt in 1863 Inscribed tomb in St Stephen's Churchyard, O oty. India. |
